Fire wood

We got a delivery of fire wood this morning for our slow combustion fire.

The boys were very interested to see the dump truck dump the wood onto our drive way, then help us sort through 2cubic meters of wood. It took us about half an hour to sort and stack it in 3 different sizes. They were good helpers. Ben pronounced wood "hood" and Ethan kept saying "it's very dirty work" and dusting off his hands.
In the end we have a lot of wood.

Pine cones and small sticks for kindling.

Small, medium, the larger logs.

More large logs

I think I mentioned earlier our electric heater broke a few weeks ago. We have decided not to fix it, rather spend the money on a supply of firewood to hopefully last the winter. We are hoping not having an electric heater will save us some money on our electric bill over the winter. We shall see.....
