3 years ago, (on 3rd May 2008) we headed to the hospital for the big day.
Ethan and Benjamin were born 1min apart at 8:18 & 8:19am by a scheduled cesarean section.
3 years later….. Happy 3rd Birthday!!!
Today, Sunday 1st May, 2011 we are celebrating their third birthday. While there official birthday isn’t till the 3rd, we are just pretending that today is the big day as Tracie has to work 7am-6pm on that day :(
We started the morning with cards and presents from us Mum’s
Then around 10am, Nana came to pick up the boys. She took them to the train station, picked up grandma and together they took the boys to the park for an hour.
This hour gave us a chance to prepare their present from the grandparents and do a bit of party preparations.
Around 11am Aunty Shell and Uncle Michael arrived, helped us finish off, then at about 11:30 the boys and grandmothers returned.
Time for a ……
Nana and Grandma decided they would like to go in together and get the boys a BIG present. We assembled the big present while they were at the park, and they came home to find a wrapped up window.
The present was too big to wrap, so we wrapped the window instead!
Peek through the little doors….
After about half an hour of jumping, and everyone having a turn, we came in for a drink…
And some presents from Aunty Shell and Uncle Michael
Thank you for some lovely books, play-doh toys and a doctor’s kit!
Back outside for some more jumping. (with balloons now!)
After much more jumping and some party lunch food, it was cake time!
This year the boys enjoyed looking through the cake books and choosing their birthday cake.
Ethan chose a Bob the Builder construction cake
“Happy Birthday to you”
Yummy!!!! Ben wanted the face…
The cakes were delicious, though VERY VERY sweet!!!
Back out to the trampoline. I think they spend HOURS and HOURS out there today. It’s defiantly a popular present.
Ethan post injury. He had a collision with Ben, and ended up with a bleeding nose. First of many trampoline accidents :(
Big kids turn…
While Ben plays doctor with Grandma
And finally, one last present from Mummy and Mumma. We have had these sitting in the cupboard for about 9 months, having bought them on clearance last year. We thought they might be ready for them……
They are “glide to ride” balance bikes. No pedals, no training wheels. You are supposed to learn to ride a bike by pushing with your feet and learning balance before you worry about pedaling.
Verdict?
They LOVE them, but they can’t reach the ground with flat feet, the bikes are too heavy for them and can’t do it by them self yet…….. few more months maybe?
The bikes will grow with them, and come with pedals to attach when the boys are ready.
It’s the end of a fun filled day and about 6pm. My little loves are fed, showered and ready for bed. Better go read them a story. They should sleep well tonight after all that jumping.
Ben is very excited that his new trampoline will be there in the morning, we don't have to pack it away! It can stay there all the time…..
According to Ben, his favourite part of the day was jumping on the trampoline with Uncle Michael.
Ethan says his favourite part of the day was his chocolate cake.
Happy Birthday my BIG 3yr old boys!!!!!!
